Red Cross Q3 eHousing Founded in eSpain

A Q3 housing company was founded in eSpain yesterday by the Syldavian Red Cross organization at a cost of 90 gold. The goal of this venture is to test the SRC's ability to generate it's own revenue. Should it prove profitable as currently anticipated we can expect to see revenues of 40+ gold per month, comfortably funding all SRC efforts on a permanent basis. This means that the SRC will no longer depend on direct donations from the public. It is our goal to be a self funding non-profit organization capable of developing schools in new or struggling nations for level 0 workers.

As we have proven in eEstonia, such aid does a lot to strengthen the local economy. We currently have 612 units of Q3 wood in stock and anticipate being able to deliver one house per week to the consumer at our current production levels. We are most definitely looking to hire employees willing to work for 3 ESP on a short term basis. If you have a construction skill and are willing to donate some time to this project please PM the Syldavian Red Cross in game.

It goes without saying that all proceeds from this company will go both into improving the company's infrastructure as well as directly to developing nations. In order to increase the productivity of this company, and eventually raise the quality level up to 5, half of all profits will be returned to the company's account while the other half will be withdrawn and distributed to developing nations.

eSpain was chosen as a base due to the availability of cheap Q3 lumber as well as the strong currency. This was not a politically motivated decision as most houses produced will be sold on the international black market anyways.

eEstonian Market Review

It's been a while since the last update, but that doesn't mean no work is being done! Almost 100% of food distribution has come to a halt as the SRC focus' on building the eEstonian economy. A construction college was recently completed and level 0 jobs are available. The level 0 work projects in eEstonia have trained hundreds of workers and provided outstanding support to local business.

The following market review was published by the SRC within the eEstonian media:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wages and Consumer Goods

Things are going really well financially for eEstonia, all prices on consumer goods have fallen to within affordable levels and wages are slowly increasing but they are still very low compared with the superpowers. Wages will self regulate over time so that's not a big concern, but as congress votes have demonstrated the minimum wage should remain at 1 EEK. Private companies are already offering jobs at higher wages for level 0 workers and as the need for workers increases with the founding of new companies eEstonians will see a rapid climb in wages especially when it becomes possible to maintain a high wellness.

If things continue the way they are the outlook is very good. Keep it up guys!

Job Market

There are still some critical shortages on the job market in both land and construction but things are FAR better than they were a week ago. I expect the market to continue to self regulate and balance itself out within a month without any manipulation. There are a lot of jobs available in all sectors (even at level 0) and it seems as if the amount of jobs exceeds the number of immigrants and new citizens which is a good thing for now. It will cause wages to go up for lower level workers but with companies working lower than 100% productivity it may cause the cost of consumer goods to increase.

Raw Materials

The grain market is doing very well as can be expected with a high grain region. Sustainable amounts of Q2 grain is available for Q2 food companies which is a very positive thing indeed!

Diamonds, Iron, Oil, and Wood. Market stocks are critically low which will drive up prices on consumer goods. If this trend continues it might require government intervention. (see recommendations for further details)

Recommendations

Wages and jobs should self regulate at this point, there shouldn't be any need for intervention.

Keep import taxes on Grain high to protect this strong industry, investors should consider setting up level 3, 4, 5 grain and food companies to take advantage of the high productivity.

Diamonds, Iron, Oil, and Wood. Government might want to consider creating companies at a loss to stimulate these markets, but that is a slippery slope. It's unknown whether or not foreign companies will set up export licences anytime soon given the political situation in eEstonia. Investors also don't know which alliance (if any) eEstonia will join, and if drawn into a war could find their import licence worthless. Government officials may consider going to neutral countries and setting up contracts with them (even footing some of the cost). In any case, an increase in raw materials will do a great deal to stimulate the local economy, drive down costs of goods and increase wages.

Training Companies - Official SRC Statement

The three training companies run by the SRC will as previously stated many times be transferred to the eEstonian people in the near future. The SRC has determined that the three companies should be sold for 40 gold for the three companies and all of their raw materials. Twenty gold will be held in reserve for further eEstonian development and the other twenty will go into projects for the new countries starting in June. The 40 gold is slightly more than half the worth of the companies purchase price as well as their current stock and on hand cash (all of which will be transferred along with them). The price is of course negotiable so it would be good to have some feedback on that.

The SRC would also consider using the full 40 gold to found a foreign raw material company with an export licence. This would be advantageous because the government would have a say in how much product is sold locally (so as not to compete directly with local business) as well as a say in price regulation. Either way eEstonia wins.

Great work guys, eEstonia is well on it's way to self determination!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The SRC has focused it's attention on eEstonia, however this will soon change. With the arrival of multiple countries in June it's vital that we have an ample supply of capital to assist these new nations. After we have successfully transferred ownership of the colleges to the eEstonian government a new chapter will begin. Thank you everyone for your support!

Day Eight

Things have still been moving along slowly. We are currently only 12 Gold short of completing our goal in the ePhilippines which will do a lot to contribute to the local economy there. We are experiencing shortages of Q2 food and may be unable to distribute much more until donations are recieved, however this is largely due to our efforts to create level 0 worker colleges. The colleges appear to have a better effect on local economies than food distribution so that will become the focus of the organization. Food distribution will continue but only in the regions most affected by hunger and low wellness.

Due to a newspaper article published in eEstonia eleven new skill 2 jobs were created by local industry (at press time). The skill 0 colleges are a remarkable success, and are currently training approximitly 40 citizens per day. With more help from the private sector eEstonia will soon become an industrial powerhouse with a self sustained training program.

Day Six

Wow, you take a day off and a lot of stuff happens. Let's see how fast this update can be made:

A manufacturing college was established in eEstonia, thus completing our mission objective there of providing training for level 0 workers in two major sectors. Our next target: Philippines! We have already raised nearly 25% of the required funds to establish a manufacturing college in this nation and anticipate completing this primary goal within 4 days.

The governmnet of the ePhilippines is recovering from a recient takeover, in which the tresury was stolen. It's citizens are working hard to generate money for government run businesses however very few level 0 jobs are availible.

Day Four

Due to a large food donation from Szpila Investments the SRC has begun sending aid to the following nations:

-eSerbia
-eSouth Korea
-eChina

A few hours ago, the following message was distributed to the national media:

"Over the past four days the SRC received donations from 33 countries worldwide and turned every last cent into Q2 food which was distributed in five target regions.

-eLativa
-eEstonia
-eLithuania
-eIndia
-eMexico

In just four days over 200 units of Q2 food were distributed to individuals with wellness below 50, increasing both national productivity and assisting individuals with personal development. The operation intended to purchase products from local markets and managed to buy roughly 70% of donated food in this way. The infrastructure is now in place to purchase closer to 100% of products locally thus helping the growing economies of these nations. The eEstonian Minister of Social Services Code-Y endorsed our operation and provided logistical support.

In eEstonia the SRC opened "The Red Cross Worker's College" which is providing jobs for workers of skill level 0. It is our goal to open a similar food company in this region to provide education in the manufacturing sector. All proceeds from sold products will go into level 0 worker's wages. More information available here.

There has been some mild scepticism in relation to the authenticity of the SRC as a charitable organization. Let these quick developments show that the SRC is not a scam. Every unit of currency donated goes directly into relief projects and is distributed globally. It is not the purpose of the SRC to replace local government/private health organizations or food banks, simply, it is our goal to take pressure off of these organizations so they can do their job better. So far we have achieved a resounding success on all fronts.

That said, the SRC is a private organization and it relies on the donations of others to succeed. The SRC once again humbly requests that all citizens who are able donate 1 unit of their local currency. This small donation will go a long way to providing aid directly to developing nations. If you are unable to donate, please consider voting this article up and adding us to your friend list.

As always, check out our blog for further information."

International response was outstanding with 12.5 gold being raised inside of 4 hours. We are striving to raise 20 gold to open the maufacturing school in eEstonia, thus completing our development project in that country. eEstonia will continue to recieve direct food aid but the organization itself will be moved to a new country to continue building work schools. With a land and manufacturing school in place, the eEstonian economy should be well on it's way to self determination.

SRC Opens Workers College in Estonia

Due in part to a generous donation of 10 Gold by cawx the Syldavian Red Cross has opened a Q1 grain company in Pohja-Eesti Estonia. Dubbed the Red Cross Workers College, the grain company will provide jobs for skill level 0 workers within Estonia. The ultimate goal is the opening of a Q1 Food company that would also employ level 0 workers, thus providing a stable workforce for both land and manufacturing sectors.

The SRC is aware of a similar project by the Skill 0 - Iron corporation and with our efforts pressure should be taken off their corporation thus creating more availible resources to the quickly growing eEstonian population.

We currently have 100 units of Q2 food in our warehouses ready for global distribution, so any further donations until that stockpile is expended will go directly toward the Q1 food company project. This endevour should provide a great deal of trained workers within the eEstonian economy, so if you are able, please donate towards this project.

Day Three

Party Election Day. Not an easy day for emerging nations. Many of the nations we are working in have come under attack from outside groups. The SRC however must remain non-partisan, and despite receiving requests for political support we can not give endorsements. We can only hope that in the end things work out for the best. That being said, it definitly makes our job easier when legitimate governments are in power but aid will not cease in the event of a take over. We will try to work with any government in power to deliver aid where needed.

Today we also recieved two huge donations. An eRussian organization known as Grand Duchy INTL donated 200 RUB which came out to 2.5 gold. 0.5 gold was sent to an agent in eMexico while the remainder was distributed to individuals in eLatvia and eEstonia. jjgphipps also donated 1.01 gold which went straight into the eEstonian market and subsequently into the bellies of hungry citizens around the globe. Thanks to these donations our inventory is full and we have a healthy cash reserve in place for tomorrow.

I am pleased to announce that due to the influx of donations, over 70% of donated food is being purchased directly from the nations they are being distributed in. If things continue along these lines we will be able to expand to eChina and eSouth Korea by the end of the week.

Response to National Health Organizations/Food Banks

General response towards the SRC's efforts to provide food to citizens in need has been great. Many people seem to be very excited about the project and a few have agreed to help us with our current projects. There have however been a few incidents where citizens have complained about our work stating that their country already had a health system or food bank set up. The SRC's goal is not to replace local health networks. It's our mission to take pressure off of the local infrastructure so that they can lower their costs and workloads in turn helping more people. Money donated to the SRC is distributed globally and used on any of the five projects we have running at this time. If we can take 10% or even 5% of the load away from the local networks in every market we are working in then overall I believe we have achieved our goal. The SRC is never going to be as personal with citizens as local organizations, that's not our purpose.

The SRC at this point is staffed by three individuals. After just two days we have provided two units of food for 50 people, which is 100 days of resources. To purchase the resources the SRC asks for a donation of 1 unit of local currency. The idea is, if everybody gives 1% then 100 people can achieve 100%. I believe we have achieved that in very short order. Thanks to everybody who has contributed to the SRC, and thanks especially to the local organizations that strive along side us to make things better.

eEstonian Minister of Social Services Assists SRC - eMexico Recieves Aid

The eEstonian Minister of Social Services (MoSS) Code-Y has reworked our forums making them much more people friendly. Check out the new look and register an account to get more involved and provide feedback! The SRC will be working together with the MoSS in providing food to local citizens through Estonia's official healthcare system. This will allow us to purchase products off the local market through a proxy. We can then save the cost of moving tickets and provide more food directly to the people that need it within that nation. While we always aim to purchase food locally it's often too expensive to transport the organization as we would have to move several times a day.

Distribution of Q1 food has begun in eMexico. The SRC strives to deliver Q2 food whenever possible, however given the war games taking place in eMexico it's not completely necessary to strive to increase wellness through food. Food is only being offered to eMexican citizens level 4 and under with a wellness less than 45.

Warehouse Upgraded

The Syldavian Red Cross has purchased an inventory upgrade for a probationary term of six months. This means that unlimited messages can be held as well as 50 inventory items. The Q1 house was sold and 35 units of Q2 food were purchased with the proceeds. With the increased inventory space we can now accept food donations as well as cash donations.

Tomorrow we can begin distribution to the three newest nations as well as eIndia. The Organization will be moving to eEstonia and buying Q2 food from the local market for distribution from donated currency. If demand doesn't waver we can expect to have distributed over 100 units of Q2 food by tomorrow evening by closure of the third day which is approximitly 8 gold worth of food. A great start to an ambitious project. Many thanks to all those who have contributed.

Day Two

Thanks to generous donations, approx. 40 units of Q2 food were distributed today between the four listed countries. The majority of it went to eEstonia but we were able to offer food to every person who sent in a request. We're trying not to spam the newspapers, so we're relying on people to check this blog to see what's going on with the organization.

All of the food distributed today was purchased on the Canadian market. It would have been nice to purchase it locally but there wasn't enough funds left over to purchase moving tickets. Perhaps in the future we will be able to afford a few.

If you are interested in donating food directly to us please ensure it is Q2+, all of the Q1 food that was donated to us yesterday was distributed along with Q2 food but our priority is increasing wellness in the citizens we aid.

A Q1 house was donated to us by a friend of mine, we're not sure what to do with it yet but if it's sold it will certainly buy a lot of food. Maybe we'll donate it directly to an individual in need.

Day One

The Syldavian Red Cross made a lot of progress today. A significant amount of money was collected (approximitly 3 gold in donations) and relief efforts were set up in:

-eEstonia

-eLatvia
-eIndia
-eLithuania

So far only two units of food have been distributed but we are prepared to supply approximitly 30 units of Q2+ at our current donation level. The following newspaper article was posted globally:

"April 13, 2009 The Syldavian Red Cross opens it's arms to the citizens of the new world for donations intended to support the growth of new and struggling nations. The Syldavian Red Cross is a charitable organization which was created to distribute Q2+ food to citizens in need regardless of alliance affiliation. We most humbly request a small donation of 1 unit of your country's currency to fund our efforts as three new countries emerge. Funds will also be banked and used to support future developing nations and their citizens. We will assist developing nations by purchasing Q2+ food from their local markets when possible and distributing it to citizens in need. This not only provides struggling local businesses with revenue, but it also allows citizens to gain wellness and become productive members of society. The Syldavian Red Cross is privately funded, and all contributions are gathered directly through donation. Food may be distributed to citizens by request, or to authenticated government organizations in countries which have a majority control over their own congress. In the case of countries with a minority congress (Congress Takeover) food will be provided directly to citizens. Please consider making a small donation of one unit of currency, your gift will make the eWorld a better place."

Since the organization is fairly new it's difficult to prove the legitimacy of our endevour however with time, and the building of a community hopefully we can show that we are actually here to help.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to go to countries in need and handle accounts there, as well as distribute food. PM the organization in game to be added to the volunteer list. So far things are going extremely well. It's important to get the word out and the donations comming in! If everybody gave just one unit of currency we would be able to easily support troubled nations.

Our next step would be to create non-profit food companies in new countries to provide work for Level Zero workers. They would be paid minimum wage and their production would be distributed within the country. This creates a stable, profitable workforce. Workers would be laid off after they have achieved skill level one, where they would be profitable for a company willing to hire them. This is defintily a long term goal though.
